The City of Menominee will hold a public hearing on the proposed City of Menominee Revolving Fund Utility project for the purpose of receiving comments from interested persons.

The hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on June 15th, 2020 at the following location:

Menominee City Hall
2511 10th Street
Menominee, MI 49858

This meeting will be held in person at City hall if the current stay and home restriction are lifted. If restriction is still in place at the time of the meeting, information about how to attend the meeting will be available on the City of Menominee website.

The purpose of the proposed project is replacing aged watermain, sewer mains, and water service lines. Project construction will involve the replacement of street surface, curbs, gutters, sidewalk, watermain, and sewer main with-in the project areas. A map of the project area is included as part of the Project Plan and is available for review.

Impacts of the proposed project include short time roadway closures, water and sewer service interruptions, and long-term improvement to water quality in the City of Menominee.

The estimated cost to users for the proposed project will come in the form of water and sewer user rate increases and are anticipated to be as high as 9%. The exact cost and scope of the project may change depending on the future funding arrangement.

City hall is closed to the general public during to the Covid-19 stay at home order. A PDF version of the project plan will be made available to interested parties by calling Menominee City Hall.
